Epiphany in the Heatwave
There I was lying naked in my bedroom with the thermometer pushing 98°
when I was hit by an epiphany. One scoop of black cherry sorbet and one
scoop of lemon sorbet would make this all bearable. So with goofy
pigtails and clad in a skimpy sundress that will likely win me a spot on
‘People of Walmart’ I headed out on my quest to Bushes Supermarket in
down town South Lyon. To the west, the sky became
gray and a breeze began to delight my senses just before I entered the
store. I was aware but unaffected by the gawkers and in moments I was
headed to the self check out prize in hand! I had obtained said sorbets
AND they were on sale 2 for $4! I made my way back home and as I
stepped onto my deck the sky oozed wet and delicious drops on my skin. I
stood there looking at the sky and thanking my gods for this refreshing
welcome home. Now, as I type this, I am slowly nibbling at my black
cherry and lemon sorbet, letting the cool flavors slip down my throat, I
am keenly aware of the awesome powers of the universe. Blessed Be!
